A Breathtaking Escape
Waldorf Astoria Driving Experience Promises to Spice up Any Getaway
By Marcus Amick
If you share a love for exclusive automobiles and breath-taking views, you’ll certainly want to put this on the top of your must-do list this year.
In 2015, Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Resorts will be extending its Waldorf Astoria Driving Experiences, which the company launched last fall.
Led by a world-class professional race car driver, the drive includes an unforgettable experience, rotating through a fleet of supercars on some of the most scenic roads in the world.
I had a chance to experience the inaugural drive last year in Park City, Utah with the Ferrari 458 Italia Spider, Porsche 911 Turbo and McLaren MP4-12C and it certainly tops the list as one of my most memorable experiences in 2014. It’s the combination of the automobiles and amazing views along the journey that really makes it unforgettable.
In addition to the drive, the experience is complemented by all the other luxury amenities that typically come with being a guest at some of the most acclaimed resorts in the world such as first-class accommodations, five-star dining and a staff that caters to your every need.
Still, it’s the Waldorf Astoria Driving Experience that true car lovers will revel in most given the thrill that comes with driving high-performance cars on the open road.
In addition to Utah, last year the experience included scenic drives in California winding through the desert and Alpine forests around Palm Springs; driving along the Atlantic coastline from Boca Raton to West Palm Beach in Florida; touring the desert landscape that crosses the Tonto National Forest in Arizona; and taking in the views of Louisiana driving through the Bayou along the Gulf of Mexico.
Waldorf Astoria is still finalizing the details for this year’s drives which will include key locations in the U.S., as well as in the United Kingdom, Western Europe and the Middle East. However, regardless of the destination, it promises to be an experience you’ll cherish for years to come.
Hotel and Resort accommodations are not included in the cost of the Waldorf Astoria Driving Experience. For more information about the program call 1-800-WALDORF.
