Malibu Wine Trail

Malibu is now an integral part of the California wine trade.  The unique microclimates of the region are producing some one-of-a-kind world-class wines that are sweeping awards and delighting palates in California and beyond.

Malibu winemakers are proud of their craft.  Their hard work and commitment to quality is gaining recognition.  In competitions, undiscovered wines of Malibu are being honored alongside side some of the most widely recognized vineyard names in the world.

The Malibu wine success story is only beginning.  The region is in the final stages of receiving its official Malibu Coast AVA designation, a significant move in raising consumer awareness and credibility to the region in the area of wine growing.

Boutique vineyards are popping up across the landscape, and what Malibu winemakers have in common is their artisanship and their desire for the products they produce to reflect authenticity and a true sense of place.

A drive along Malibu’s Wine Trail is a visual treat.  Before you take tot eh road, stop by the Malibu Chamber of Commerce for information, local maps and insider tips.  Then cruise the trail to indulge in the stunning scenery and gain appreciation for the unique environment and conditions that contribute to the character of Malibu wines.



Cielo Malibu Estate Vineyards
Cielo produces a variety of red, white and sparkling estate grown wines as well as olive oil.  Views from the estate’s villa are breathtaking, overlooking beautiful gardens, vineyards laden with fruit and hundred year old Tuscan olive trees.
Colcanyoun Estate Wines
Colcanyon Estate Wines – As local as it gets, Colcanyon is a small boutique vineyard focused on quality wine with 100% local grapes.   This award-winning ultra low production vineyard produces 300 cases per year of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cab Franc.
Dolin Malibu Estate Vineyards
Producing award-winning Chardonnay, including some of the top Chardonnays in the region, Dolin Vineyards also produces a Pinot Noir Rose and its 2012 release will include a Cabernet – based red.
Hoyt Family Vineyards
Named Malibu’s Best Chardonnay in 2012, Carol and Stephen Hoyt produce unique hand-crafted wines from their Malibu Estate. They also produce wines from Paso Robles and Santa Inez grapes.
Jim Palmer’s Malibu Vineyards
Malibu Vineyards  is located in western Malibu, where winemaker Jim Palmer grows varietals in a microclimate of mineral rich soils on a south-facing hillside.  Long days of sunlight and cool ocean breezes create a perfect atmosphere for wine grape growing.
Malibu Family Wines
Perfectly positioned at the crest of the Santa Monica Mountains, our vineyards are indeed special.  We have eight varietals planted, they include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Malbec, Grenache, Mouvedre and Viognier.
Malibu Solstice
Malibu Solstice is a high evolution micro-vineyard located in the Santa Monica Mountains of Malibu.  The vine-yard is dedicated to producing 100% single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
Montage Vineyards
Honored with double gold and silver medals from the 2010 San Francisco International Wine Competition, Montage Vineyards continues it tradition of producing quality red and white wines.
Rosenthal – The Malibu Estate
The vineyard is located in a inland valley with a unique microclimate that hosts 32 acres of hillside wines.  Winemaker George Rosenthal features his Surfrider and Rosenthal Estate wines at the one and only wine tasting room along Malibu’s Pacific Coast Highway.
Sage Hill Ranch & Vineyard
The boutique vineyard in the Malibu hills sits high above the Pacific Ocean.  The south-facing location, rock-terrain, and cool morning mists provide excellent growing conditions.  The vineyard produces reds and whites and the estate also includes two vocation homes available to rent.
Schetter Malibu Vineyard
Known for its award-winning single vineyard Malibu Sanity Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Schetter Vineyard wines are crafted from Burgundian vines in the traditional Burgundian style.  The vineyard, clearly visible above Paradise Cove, is meticulously tended by owner Charles Schetter, Malibu’s first UC David Certified Winegrower.
