On April 18th at the Malibu Jewish Center, the Children’s Lifesaving Foundation, a local, non-profit dedicated to transforming the lives of LA’s at-risk and homeless youth and families founded in 1993, hosted its second annual Spirit of Giving Brunch. Incredible speakers Rickie Byars Beckwith, Kathy Eldon, Sarah Kosasky, Susan Stiffelman and Heather McCloskey Beck each spoke about what it means to “give” to the community, in their own varied and fascinating experiences, and young singer Jonathon Forrester sang beautifully for the crowd. The event was sponsored by Alex Fields and the Fields Family Foundation, and was attended by Malibu locals and Westsiders alike, including Councilmembers Lou La Monte and Laura Rosenthal, former Malibu mayors Sharon Barovsky and Andy Stern, supporters Marla Michaels and Ellen Poyer and renowned actress, Amy Madigan, among many others. The crowd was deeply moved by the presentations given by several young adults who described how their lives had been changed by the Children’s Lifesaving Foundation.
